On The Farm

New House Farm is a working hill farm of 43 acres.

On it you can see our substantial fold of highland cattle. Calving will occur in the summer and you will be enchanted by these little wooly creatures.

We have a small flock of Shetland sheep, kept for their delicious meat and many coloured fleeces which are a favorite with hand spinners. A larger flock of Texel X ewes are maintained for commercial lamb production.

We have seven horses,The oldest is Foxy, 20 this year but still going strong. Then there is Molly, the brood mare. We have three of her offspring, Lucy Glitters [8], Goods and Chaddles [4], and Scene of the Crash [1]. Then there is Solitaire and of course Piewackett.

Mac is our sheepdog and we have two cats, Ramasese and Fermat.
A variety of ducks and chicken roam around the farm. These produce our eggs and Christmas poultry.
